April 18, 2003 :BlueEyedOS has released their BeOS-inspired operating system demo CD The folks over at BlueEyedOS have released an ISO image of their BeOS operating system. It is based on the Knoppix distribution and includes their kernel_server, libroot.so, app_server, libbe.so and storage kit!
April 16, 2003 :YellowTAB are nearing completion of Zeta YellowTAB have completed Beta testing on Beta3 of their new distribution of the BeOS 5 Personal Edition. YellowTAB have resolved a number of minor issues with the distribution and believe the final release date is fast approaching! Check out their website for more information.
July 16, 2002 :OpenBeOS Gaining Momentum OpenBeOS is a project dedicated to the re-creation, followed by the extension, of the BeOS. Individual servers and APIs(known as kits) are being re-written from scratch by an enthusiastic team of volunteers who want to continue the revolution started by Be, Inc. The kernel is being based on NewOS, a microkernel written by a former Be engineer, and adapted by a dedicated team of hard-core programmers.
